PAD is the unequivocal choice for those seeking a proactive means of involvement within the legal field. Our organization not only allows its members to become connected with each other but also with prominent figures within the legal profession. But we at P.A.D. are definitely not "all work and no play". Members reap many of the social benefits seen within social fraternities on campus while at the same time enhancing their resumes and getting the experiences to keep them on the cutting edge of their profession.
Phi Alpha Delta’s Pre-Law Chapter at UNC-CH is striving earnestly to broaden its membership base and to rally its members towards the common goal of brotherhood. Entering the competitive profession of law can prove to be a difficult journey. The brothers of Phi Alpha Delta believe companions in this endeavor are of crucial importance. Members of this organization are blessed with the helping hands and ideas of those who came before them and their peers. The fundamental objective of Phi Alpha Delta's Pre-Law Program is to assist undergraduate students to make an informed choice in selecting law as a career, deciding which law school to attend, and in preparing for the rigors of law school. Phi Alpha Delta remains the only Law Fraternity and the only national legal organization of any kind with a national Pre-Law Program committed to meeting the needs of undergraduate students interested in the law. The purpose of Phi Alpha Delta is to form a strong bond uniting students and teachers of the law with members of the Bench and Bar in a fraternal fellowship designed to advance the ideals of liberty and equal justice under law; to stimulate excellence in scholarship; to inspire the virtues of compassion and courage; to foster integrity and professional competence; to promote the welfare of its members; and to encourage their moral, intellectual, and cultural advancement; so that each member may enjoy a lifetime of honorable professional and public service. Every semester P.A.D. brings in prominent legal speakers, engages in various community service events around campus, goes on retreats and social events such as semiformals and mixers, and overall allows the members to have fun. If you think you are a match for P.A.D. feel free to attend one of our weekly meetings on Thursdays in Gardener 106. Students from all class standings and majors are welcome to join.
